The kids were so excited to go trick-or-treating! They couldn't wait to fill their buckets up with candy. Ruby didn't last as long as the big kids...she was constantly worried about whether each house had a pet or not...and Sophie wanted to come home and pass out candy. Collin stuck it out for quite a while. Such a fun night!! Happy Halloween!

pumpkin carving
The kids always look forward to carving pumpkins each year. Although none of them were very into touching the pumpkin guts. Especially Ruby. She wanted nothing to do with getting her hands dirty! Each kid chose their own design this year. Collin's was a samurai ranger symbol, Sophie's was a moon with a bat hanging upside down from it, and Ruby's was a traditional jack-o-lantern! They turned out cute!

October 25, 2012. First Snow!
We had our first snow yesterday. While I was a little bummed to be seeing snow already (can't it wait until after Halloween?) the kids were over the moon excited about it. They couldn't wait to go out in the white stuff before school. I think they may have went to school with soaking wet feel (a good reminder to me that I need to buy them all new boots this year!). And although I am not quite ready for the cold and snow...I was just sitting on the beach in Puerto Vallarta two days before this...seeing and hearing my kids excitement made it seem welcome!
Logan snapped these pictures after school. Let's reflect that Collin just finished building a snowman in shorts and flip flops! He sure was excited for the snow, but maybe he isn't quite ready for winter! At least he had his coat on!!
looking back
I took these pictures back in March. When Lyla was seven months old. I have had them sitting on my desk top to edit since then. But I never did. And now it just seems so after the fact. So long ago. But I love them, so tonight I edited them and am posting them because it seems like my pictures aren't preserved if I don't blog them. This was one of the first naps Lyla took without being swaddled. So I captured the moment. Those cute feet propped up on the crib rail. And her hand clutching her lovie. Pure cuteness!

the simple things. A "T" Party.
This weeks simple thing:
A mother/daughter "T" Party with Sophie
We got all dolled up in our fanciest tea party clothes and had such a great time with the other girls and mothers in the ward. We shared talents, ate yummy treats, drank lemonade, laughed, and watched a sweet movie about why each girl loves their mom! It was such a great afternoon. I am glad that I get to share times like this with Sophie. I love her!

Pumpkin Patch.
We visited the pumpkin patch this week. The kids were so excited to get their pumpkins. It makes me laugh watching them try to carry their own. Ruby only lasted long enough for me to get her picture. She thought hers was soooo heavy! I just love her strained face as she clings onto the heavy thing. After we got our pumpkins we enjoyed some yummy kettle corn and the kids ran around to all the slides and rode the train. Even little Lyla got in on the fun! She was such a mess when we got home. Such a gun night with my family. What more could I want?!?!
