We took advantage of the last weekend before school starts and headed to Sand Hollow. We needed to embrace the sun, the heat, and the freedom just one last time! We have been wanting to go to Sand Hollow for most of the Summer but it has never quite worked out. Saturdays are busy when you have just moved into a new house! We finally made it though, and it did not disappoint! The kids swam, played in the sand, and enjoyed being with one another. I sat down on the waters edge with Drake. He played with the sand and splashed in the shallow water, keeping us cool. It was so relaxing. There was no complaining from the kids. Just enjoyment. It was lovely! Just what we needed before the crazy that comes when the kids are in school!

October 10, 2014. Pumpkin Patch!
We took the kids to the pumpkin patch last weekend! They loved it and had so much fun. They always look forward to our yearly visit to pick out our pumpkins. Sophie had a cute little checklist put together to ensure that she found just the right pumpkin. Things like: Is it round? Does it weigh enough? Is it the right color orange? It was cute and I think she eventually found her perfect one! Usually we tell the kids they have to be able to carry their pumpkin, but this year Logan said they could get whichever one they wanted. All of them, except for Lyla, chose really big ones!
After our hay ride and pumpkin picking, the kids had a great time running around and going down the slides. Lyla was having the time of her life going down the slides over and over and over again. Collin tried his hand at the corn launcher and won us a free pumpkin by hitting the target right on! We even tried the corn maze this year! The kids had a blast and Logan and I enjoyed watching them have so much fun! Such a great time of year!
Each year I like to get a shot of all the kids together by the pumpkins. This year however, our usual spot was super crowded and Lyla wanted nothing to do with having her picture taken. The other 3 were happy to oblige, although they all are a little spacey! :)

December 27, 2013. Ice Skating.
I took the kids ice skating at Station Park over their Christmas break. They loved it, and Lyla enjoyed playing on the playground. Ruby wasn't such a fan of the whole thing until I finally convinced her to stand on a chair next to the heaters. She didn't think it was too bad after that! :) Both Sophie and Collin are such good ice skaters. It was fun to see them out on the ice playing around together. I love that they are such good friends.
They had so much fun skating, that we decided to go again. This time with Dad and the Rec. Center. Ruby tried it out this time and loved it as well. She got pretty brave skating around the rink with the help of a skate mate! Afterwards she was so proud!

October 25, 2013. Lagoon Trail.
We had such a beautiful fall this year. One evening we headed to one our our favorite spots for walking, the Lagoon Trail. The leaves were amazing, and the kids had so much fun running around in them. It was a nice afternoon/evening as a family.

May 13, 2013. Feeding the ducks!
We spent the evening at a nearby by pond feeding the ducks. The kids always love to run around and throw bread at those crazy ducks! Even Lyla had fun!

April 27, 2013. Lagoon!
We finally bought our season passes and took the kids to Lagoon for the first time this Spring. Ruby has been dying to go. Everyone had a good time. Lyla was old enough to ride on more than the merry-go-round this year. She wasn't quite sure about the rides at first, but quickly caught on and had so much fun on all of them except for one! I can't believe she is getting so big. Here's to warm weather, roller coaster rides, and time spent together!

April 20, 2013. This Is The Place.
I was dying to get some pictures of the kids with some bay animals this Spring. I thought I would take them to Baby Animal Days, but it was rainy and Logan was working and I wasn't feeling like going all the way up there by myself. So we headed to This Is The Place instead to see their baby animals. The animals were cute, but because it was raining, they were in cages inside a dark barn. So no pictures for me! But the kids had a blast running around and seeing all there was to see. They didn't even mind the rain we had every now and then. Collin couldn't wait to see this monument and wanted to read every word!

March 16, 2013. Zoo Trip!
A couple of weekends ago, the kids and I took a trip to the zoo. We were finally having some nice weather, and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to be out in the sun! I was talking to Lyla about going to the zoo and I asked her if she wanted to see some animals, and she moooed! It was pretty cute! We all had fun! After the zoo, we met Logan for some dinner and ice cream. Such a fun day!

Ice Skating
Over the break, we took the kids ice skating. Sophie had been dying to go and was so excited. The kids had a blast. Well, Sophie and Collin did. Ruby opted not to skate, but to watch with Lyla and I. Although I think she had a great time watching too! Sophie was actually really good. She only fell once or twice. Collin on the other hand, fell a lot! But he always got right back up. He went home soaking wet from all of his falls. We'll have to go back another time before Spring comes...and it can't come soon enough!!!

December 15, 2012. Temple Square.
Temple Square was beautiful as always.
We warmed up with some hot cocoa in the Nauvoo Cafe mid way through and the kids got to play some musical instruments along with the pianist.
Such a great night, and a wonderful time of year!

Pumpkin Patch.
We visited the pumpkin patch this week. The kids were so excited to get their pumpkins. It makes me laugh watching them try to carry their own. Ruby only lasted long enough for me to get her picture. She thought hers was soooo heavy! I just love her strained face as she clings onto the heavy thing. After we got our pumpkins we enjoyed some yummy kettle corn and the kids ran around to all the slides and rode the train. Even little Lyla got in on the fun! She was such a mess when we got home. Such a gun night with my family. What more could I want?!?!
