May 31, 2013. Ruby's Spring Recital.

 Ruby has her Spring dance recital. She was so excited for it and could hardly wait for the day to arrive. I think she was most excited to wear her lady by costume, but I think she likes being up on the big stage too. I love going to these recitals. I laugh so much. They are a little bit like going to a comedy routine!!! All the girls are sooo cute up there doing their thing. Ruby did awesome, and knew most of the steps to her dances. Such a pretty ballerina!!

May 11, 2013. Rockets.

Collin came home from school all excited about rockets from an assembly they had. He decided to use some of his money that he had saved up to buy some rockets of his own. After weeks of waiting, we finally made it to the park to launch them! It was such a fun afternoon. We had a picnic lunch and watched Collin shoot off his rockets. They were really neat and fun to watch! They went super high.

After we launched rockets I took some pictures of the Lyla and Sophie with the dandelions. Ruby was too busy playing on the playground to take a time out for flowers!!!

April 20, 2013. This Is The Place.

I was dying to get some pictures of the kids with some bay animals this Spring. I thought I would take them to Baby Animal Days, but it was rainy and Logan was working and I wasn't feeling like going all the way up there by myself. So we headed to This Is The Place instead to see their baby animals. The animals were cute, but because it was raining, they were in cages inside a dark barn. So no pictures for me! But the kids had a blast running around and seeing all there was to see. They didn't even mind the rain we had every now and then. Collin couldn't wait to see this monument and wanted to read every word!

Spring

I love this time of year. The blossoms are out on the trees. I just wish it were a little warmer so I could be outside enjoying them a little bit more.

March 30, 2013. Dying Eggs!!

The kids were so excited to dye eggs. Especially Ruby. She has been asking everyday for several weeks now. They had a great time! I am always amazed at how quickly the whole process is. In the end, their hands are dyed just as much as their eggs!! Lyla wasn't into dying her eggs as much as she was into eating them!

Dying eggs was hard work...so everyone settled down to watch Hop afterwards! Love these 5 people more than anything!

March 16, 2013. Zoo Trip!

A couple of weekends ago, the kids and I took a trip to the zoo. We were finally having some nice weather, and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to be out in the sun! I was talking to Lyla about going to the zoo and I asked her if she wanted to see some animals, and she moooed! It was pretty cute! We all had fun! After the zoo, we met Logan for some dinner and ice cream. Such a fun day!

They are finally here. I have been waiting and waiting for my trees to blossom. It finally happened ... and they are beautiful!


And with the blossoms come a promise ...

of warmer weather ...

and time spent outside ...

taking walks, riding bikes, and drawing with sidewalk chalk!

I can hardly wait!

I drove by this field of yellow this morning and just knew I had to go back. The kids had the best time basking in all this beautiful yellow. What an amazing world we live in.

You Capture - Spring

I am loving this Spring ... on the days that actually feel like Spring (it is currently snowing here!!). But despite the snow, there is still a lot of blossoms and signs of new life. I snapped some pics while I was at my moms house yesterday. She always has such a beautiful yard. One day I hope for my yard to look like hers in the Spring ... but that would mean I would have to do a whole lot of planting. Sigh ... one day!

Did You Know .....

that it is SPRING break!?!?!

Obviously Mother Nature has Spring break mixed up with Christmas break!

We should be ... wearing new spring clothes and sandals, going to the park, enjoying picnics, and laying on the green grass.

Instead ... we are putting on our snow clothes and shoveling the driveway. Yuck!

Seriously. Last week Logan mowed the lawn. This week it is covered in snow.

I am SO ready for Spring ... to stay!
