February 22-23, 2014. Moab.

Logan came home from work at 4:00 one day and announced we were heading to Moab and that we I had 1 hour to pack. We had talked about it a couple of days earlier but ultimately had decided not to go.  He knew that he was going to be getting super busy with work and that we needed this little vacation together, so I got busy packing. It's no easy task packing for myself and 4 kids in an hour but I got it done (although I did forget a few things!) and we left on time!

We got in late so we went right to bed in order to get rested for a fun day of hiking a head of us. We had a great time visiting Arches National Park. The kids are troopers and went on a couple small hikes with us. Our kids really do not like hiking, especially Ruby. Not even kidding she sat down about 2 minutes into our hike claiming her legs were exhausted and that she was not going to go any further! Somehow we convinced her and we made it to Landscape Arch. Later when we hiked to the viewing point of Delicate Arch she talked Logan into carrying her.

The kids participated in the Junior Ranger Program, a favorite of theirs. Although Collin was the only one to complete it and earn his badge. They each got $10 to spend on a souvenir and were in love with what they bought.

One our way home, we stopped at Canyon lands and hiked around before the big drive. I really enjoyed Canyon lands and wished we could have spent more time there. It was beautiful and the kids were able to climb around more than they could in Arches.

Such a fun last minute vacation!

October 10-17, 2013. Brazil.

Logan had the opportunity to go Brazil for work and I was lucky enough to tag along with him. It was a fantastic trip. We were lucky enough to fly down and back first class. That alone was a memorable experience. We didn't do too much while in Rio, but it was wonderful to be together and to relax. Logan spent the majority of the trip in meetings, but we did get to spend an entire day together exploring the city. We wanted to visit the Christus, but were discouraged from going by hotel staff due to the expected large city crowds that day. So instead we visited a nearby botanical garden. It was beautiful. One evening we were able to visit Sugarloaf and ride the cable car up to a fantastic dinner and show. It was definitely a highlight of the trip for me! It was a great trip and so nice to get away!

May 17-29, 2013. St. George!

A couple of weekends ago we took a quick trip down to St. George. It was so nice to get away from all the responsibilities at home and just enjoy being together as a family. We left early Friday morning, and got down there shortly after lunch. The kids were awesome in the car, but anxious to get out and move around once we got there! Sophie probably asked "Are we there yet?" a million times during the drive. We couldn't check into our condo yet, so we killed some time climbing the rocks at Pioneer Park. The kids loved this and had such a great time. After getting our wiggles out, we checked into our condo, met up with a friend of Logan's, and spent the evening swimming and eating pizza. The kids were in heaven with tv's in their rooms. We barely even knew they were with us!

Day Two
Our second day we woke up and headed to the BMX track! The boys had fun racing, and the girls were good sports about playing in the dirt most of the morning and afternoon! Both boys had great races and showed off their skills. It is so fun for me to get to watch them race. Even Ruby raced...dress and all! In the end there were enough trophies to go around!

After the races, we had lunch at Zion and then rewarded the girls with a trip to the petting zoo where we fed the most eager alpaca's I have ever seen! They sure were cut though!! The kids ran around a little bit and then we headed back to wash all the dirt off of us at the swimming pool!

Day Three
We packed things up and headed into Zion for a short hike before making the drive back home. I am always amazed at how beautiful Southern Utah is. The kids did great on the way up, but let's just say there were quite a few tears shed on the way down! Little legs get so tired so quickly!

After our hike, we headed home! Until next time St. George!!!
