Soccer Star

Spring soccer has ended ... and it was a great season. It was so fun to watch Sophie play every Saturday. It was a completely different experience from the fall. I wasn't sure if she would even want to play this Spring, but when I asked her about it she said "Yes. I need to play because I am going to be a coach when I get bigger!" And so we went ... and it wasn't emotional at all for her. No tears. Only smiles and good times.

Soccer Star!

Her favorite part of every game was the treat afterward! She is definitely her mama's girl! She would usually start asking her coach when treat time was shortly before half time. Silly girl.

Sophie decided that she wanted to play goalie ... the only problem was that at her age level they don't have goalies. But whenever she would get tired of running or fighting the huddle of girls that surrounded the ball, she would go back and take her position as goalie ... and if by chance she did stop the other team from scoring, she was always sOOooo proud.

Good season Green Grasshoppers! Now what are we going to do every Saturday?!?

You Capture - Yellow

Yellow ....

So bold
So bright
So full of life
So cheerful
So wonderful

I drove by this field of yellow this morning and just knew I had to go back. The kids had the best time basking in all this beautiful yellow. What an amazing world we live in.

Hooray for yellow!

Sophie ... the party planner

Sophie loves parties! She has been planning her birthday since the day after her last birthday (in August) ... and she has managed to change the theme for it more times than I can count. Occasionally when she feels like her birthday is too far away, she decides it is time to have a party NOW! She makes invitations, plans it all out in her head, creates the guest list, and then tells us about it. Logan is great about putting her plans into action. You may remember the tea party she had several months ago.

Last week she decided to have an Eric Carle party. She invited a small group of girls and they had a great time together.

They read some Eric Carle stories .....

and then created some pictures Eric Carle style.

It was a fun little get together. I love watching Sophie in her element. I am so grateful for the friendships that Sophie has and for her ability to persuade us into throwing her little parties just because ... life is better with parties!

Happy Mother's Day

i LOVE being a mother

I was greeted by breakfast in bed ... followed by an enormous amount of handmade cards ... these cute flowers ... a necklace that I really, really wanted ... and three of the cutest, greatest children ever. What more could a mom want on mothers day really?

logan's sweet grandma helped the kids make these cute bouquets of flowers for me! i love them.

I feel truly honored to be a mother. To have these wonderful children in my life is an amazing blessing. I love them soOOooo much. I love hugging them, kissing them, talking with them, playing with them ... I even love the day to day stuff that comes along with them. I can't imagine life without them. Honestly, there is nothing better. And nothing that makes my life more worthwhile.
