Lagoon

It's What Fun Is!
Spring is here.  Officially.

Well I hope so.   At least it has felt like it is here the past couple of days.

And Lagoon is open.  The kids have been dying to go.  Collin talks about going on the dragon (the new ride this year) at least once a day.  And he has been for months.  On Saturday we got out of the house, enjoyed the sunshine, and ushered in Spring by going to Lagoon.  The kids loOooved it!  There is nothing better than doing something that brings such big smiles on your kids faces.  I love the look of pure enjoyment that shows on their faces with every single ride that they go on.  We all had a great time and look forward to many more fun days at Lagoon.

That's the look I am talking about.

We rode the ferris wheel for the first time.
It is a   l  o  n  g   ride.
Oh and it was freezing 150 feet up in the air.
Sophie had to snuggle to stay warm.
I'll take whatever snuggling I can get from that girl.

"I a great driver!  Whoa"

Woo!  Woo!
Collin had a great time on the train.

This sweet girl was awesome.  She just hung out and enjoyed herself in the stroller.
She has recently started sucking on her tongue.
So cute.  It makes a kissy noise.  I sure do love her.

Happy Easter!

Ruby was sleeping during our picture.

What a beautiful Easter day.  The weather was wonderful and the day was spent enjoying time with family and reflecting on the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  I love Easter.  The symbolism of new beginnings.  It comes at a perfect time of year, when everything is born again.

Our Easter morning started off with the kids following a trail of candy that the Easter Bunny had dropped leading to their baskets.  I think they were pleased with the prizes and treats that was left for them.  They enjoyed opening their eggs and finding all the candy inside each one.

We spent the morning at my parents house going to church, eating yummy food, and enjoying the sunshine with an egg hunt.  They kids loved finding the eggs and running all over the yard.  I took a ton of pictures.  I had too, my kids are just so cute!  And they looked great in their new Easter attire.

Finding the eggs

We love Grandma!
Especially when she tickles us!

Precious baby.

Beautiful girl.

Handsome guy.

Sophie loves Dandelions!

I love Collin's cheesy face.
That boy can always make me smile.

I love my sweet baby girl.

Later in the day we went to Logan's sister's house where we enjoyed some more yummy food, and both the kids and the adults got to participate in an egg hunt.  I seem to lacking in my hunting skills.  I only found 3 eggs.  Oh well!  Again the kids were thrilled with the hunt and had a blast running around with their cousins.

What a lovely Easter day spent making memories!

Wicked!

I got to go to Wicked with my mom on Saturday.  It was such a blast.  I had such a good time hanging out with my mom and the show was fabulous.  I loved it.  The cast was wonderful and did such a great job.  Glinda was a crack up.  She had me laughing through out the entire show.  It was just so fun to be out without worrying about the kids and enjoying good company and great entertainment.  Thanks mom for taking me and showing me a great time and thanks babe for watching the kids while I was out playing.

4 MONTHS!!!

Ruby Jane is 4 months old.  I can't believe how big she is getting and how much she grows and changes every day.  I feel so blessed to have this little lady.  She is still the sweetest baby ever.  The baby we never had.  She eats good, sleeps good, and poops good.  What more could I ask for?  She never cries, and has an adorable little smile.   It melts my heart.  She talks up a storm, and can always be found with a fist in her mouth.  She is starting to play with and reach for toys, and loves to sit in her bumbo and exersaucer.  She is still going to therapy for her torticollis, but is doing so well.  She has such good head control now and holds her head up straight the majority of the time.  She is still my biggest baby - but as the doctor told me "she isn't chunky!" Here are her stats:  She weighed 13 lbs 2 oz (50%) and was 25 in long (85%).  I just love his little girl and can't stand the fact that she is growing up {sigh}!  I want her to be my little baby forever.  With Sophie and Collin I wished for them to be 6 months old (they were extremely colicky babies) but with Ruby I don't want her to hit the 6 month milestone.  I love you Rubes!

Kindergarten Shots!

Sophie got her Kindergarten shots this week.  I can't believe my little Soph  is old enough to be starting Kindergarten.  Man time flies!  We still aren't 100% sure if we are going to send her (her birthday is only 5 days before the deadline) but we are leaning towards it and I wanted her to just be ready.  I feel like academically she is totally ready, but emotionally I am not so sure.  They grow and mature so fast though.  So much can change between now and September.  Anyway, she was brave.  It was a traumatizing experience for both me and her.  I was so worried just because she would know what was about to happen.  I knew she would like cry like crazy, and she did.  Right before the nurse gave them to her, she asked "Is is going to hurt real bad?"  The nurse told her it would hurt, but only for a minute.  It was heart wrenching watching the first needle go in and seeing her body totally tense up and jerk.  Poor girl.  I think she felt like she had been lied to.  She made it though.  And some pink bubble gum ice cream helped to make things feel all better again!  Ice cream always makes everything all better!!

Tame That Mane!

Right from day 1 Ruby's hair has always stood straight up.
And I have L.O.V.E.D. it!
It catches everyones eye and she receives many comments wherever we go.
She hasn't really lost any of it, she just keeps getting more. It gets longer and longer and still continues to stand straight up.
I still love it.
But sometimes I think it is time to tame that mane!
So here are some of my experimentations.

They are both cute!

We have the classic straight
(achieved only through applying hair product - and I still couldn't get the back to lay down!)

Next I wanted to try a little curly - q !!
So I put in some little foam rollers after her bath today.

It turned out equally cute, but different than anticipated.
It kind of adds a new dimension to the stick straight up look.
It is growing on me though.
I think it will look especially cute when her hair is a little longer
and after I get some practice with the rollers.
I don't have too much experience with them!  HaHa!

But how could my sweet little girl look anything but cute?
I love her new do's
but
I still love her hair that sticks straight up
and
I will miss it when it is no longer standing on end!!

My Crafty Side

Happy April Fools Day!!
I am boring.  I didn't do anything to fool my hubby or my kids.  It would have been fun, but sounded like too much work.  Just not feeling that ambitious today!  But I am feeling crafty - and have been a lot lately.

Every where I look, I find or see something that I want to make.  I am especially drawn to sewing.  I have found some great blogs with things that I am just dying to try.  But I am not that great of a seamstress.  I am not bad, but I tend to rely on a lot of support from my wonderful mom.  Maybe, I will give them a try!  Just maybe.  Or maybe I won't be feeling crafty anymore in a couple of days.  Or maybe I will realize that I don't have the time to be crafty - with three kids, and a totally messy house and all!  But to tide over the crafty side in me I went out and purchased the items I needed to make something very useful for me these days.

Burp Rags!!  Miss Ruby is a spitter for sure.  I need a burp rag in every room, on every counter, and in every baby contraption.  You are never safe from being spit upon when you are around this little cutie.  I am sooOOo excited and can't wait for them to be done.  Maybe I won't have to do the laundry as much.  Okay, probably not, but I can dream!

I just had to include a picture of my adorable inspiration.  SPIT and all!!
