He LOVED the F-18

Collin sitting in the C-17 (a cargo airplane)

Last weekend (while Sophie was still with her Grandma on their special sleep over) We took Collin and Ruby to the Wendover Air Show. A neighbor gave us two tickets and we couldn't pass up the opportunity. Collin has been so into airplanes lately ... we thought he would love it ... and he did! He had a great time. His favorite parts were getting an airplane toy and watching the F-18 fly. He also liked the cargo planes ... he wants to be a cargo pilot when he grows up!

Ruby was a trooper through the whole trip. She enjoyed seeing the airplanes and running around like a crazy lady when we let her out of her stroller. It was a fun afternoon.

Air Races

Logan and I totally wanted to go see the Red Bull Air Races this year ... and when we found out they were in NYC we were sold. We were so excited. And the races did not disappoint. They were pretty incredible.

we got there early to stake out our spot ... and we were glad we did!

the race took place on the Hudson with views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty

the planes fly about 230 mph around and through the 65 ft pylons.

Reno Air Races; Fly Low Fly Fast Turn Left

Our trip to Reno was so much fun. It was nice to spend so much time with Logan without the kids. Most of it was spent at the air show where we watched a lot of planes.

Logan's favorite part of the races was "The Blue Angels." Just their pre-flight presentation was incredible and their flying was amazing.

The best way to describe the races is Nascar with planes. It was pretty neat to watch the planes races around the oval and make their passes. It is incredible how fast and low to the ground they fly. It does the body good to get your red neck on every now and then.
