embrace the camera: 2/9/12

homework...

the kids are doing so well in school
it makes me beam with pride!
collin has begun to read...
and sophie is a spelling whiz!
we don't always look forward to homework time...
but i treasure those one-on-one moments where we learn.

embrace the camera: nov. 17th

This photo shoot was so. much. fun!  It was the perfect way to bring out Sophie's personality.  I love how each one of them turned out!  Sophie has been such a helper to me lately.  I can't believe just how grown up she is getting.  She is becoming quite the responsible little lady. {setting the table without being asked, helping out the little ones whenever i can't, and always lightening up the mood in our house with a little humor}  I can always count on her.  We are so blessed to have her in our family and I can't get enough of this girl!

Love you sis!

embrace the camera: october 13

This sweet boy has been a challenge for me lately.
I would love to say that it is because both he and I are adjusting to life with a new baby,
but it's not.
He has a temper.
And teaching him to express himself in developmentally appropriate ways is hard.
More often than not we don't see eye to eye.
And there is a lot of screaming and stomping among other things going on around our house lately.
But I LOVE him like crazy!
And there are those moments when we have the best time together.
Moments where we both laugh
and smile
and are silly!
Yesterday was one of those moments.
We colored with sidewalk chalk {pumpkins + ghosts + bats + witches + skeletons}

and we played
and took pictures

and made silly, scary, spooky faces!

It was great!
