Dreaming of Spring

Is it just me, or does this seem like the longest winter ever?  I have spent most of the morning, dreaming of Spring.  I long for tulips, working in the yard, planting my garden, daily walks to the park, bike rides with the kids, talking to neighbors in their yards, birds chirping, and just warm weather in general.  I hope it makes its arrival before too long!

Lessons in Cookie Eating

Logan wanted to eat some cookies with the kids the other night, but only Collin would take him up on the offer.  He had a good lesson on cookie dipping and loved his cookies and milk.  He also had a color lesson as they talked about the colored m&m's in his cookie.  Collin says they are all "green."

Balloons

Both of my kids love balloons.  Whenever we ask Sophie is she wants to go to the store, she always says, "To get pink balloons!"  She was lucky enough to get this one from a family birthday party that we had.  Logan took these pictures, and I just thought they were cute!

Shadow Puppets

Sophie has always enjoyed shadow puppets.  She loves for Logan to make different animals and then she will try also.  This is what I found her doing all by herself the other day on our wall.  She was making all kinds of different animals.  It was so fun to watch.  When I got the camera out, she was a little hesitant to continue making her animals, but she was very proud of the shadow of her body!

A Style All Her Own

At the age of three, Sophie now insists on dressing herself.  Good and bad!  She certainly has a style that is all her own (or at least different from mine).   She doesn't care about the weather outside, or about matching at all.  The more it clashes, the better.  On most days, she chooses to wear the outfits that I absolutely loath.  Other days, she chooses things that I love, but puts them into incredible combinations that make me want to cringe.  Despite how I feel, she usually wins.  One day after she picked a shirt that I am not incredible fond of, I told her it was "yucky" and suggested that she pick a new one.  This totally broke her heart and made her cry.  I instantly felt bad and have been a lot better about letting her pick for herself, no matter how bad I want to intervene.  This is what she chose today--her red hippo shirt with her yellow and pink capri pants.  Topped off with her adorable hot pink shoes with no socks.  Did I mention we are having a huge snow storm outside?!

all PRINCESS all the time

In the last couple of months, Sophie has been so into Princess'.  It isn't too often anymore that I see her without a princess crown on (she will even sleep in one).  We get asked numerous times at the store if it is her birthday.  Nope, I just have a princess on my hands.  She loves to wear her princess up dress up clothes, and jewelry.  Even Collin likes being a princess occasionally.  I have to admit, she makes a pretty cute princess!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy To YoU!

Today is Logan's birthday, and I just wanted to wish him a very happy birthday.  Hope you had a great day babe.  You are the greatest husband and father.  I couldn't ask for anyone better.  We all love you like crazy--ohh! (Sorry about the cheese)
