You Capture - Spring

I am loving this Spring ... on the days that actually feel like Spring (it is currently snowing here!!). But despite the snow, there is still a lot of blossoms and signs of new life. I snapped some pics while I was at my moms house yesterday. She always has such a beautiful yard. One day I hope for my yard to look like hers in the Spring ... but that would mean I would have to do a whole lot of planting. Sigh ... one day!

Say Cheese!

Last week I had the opportunity to take pictures of my best friends little kids. It was soOoo much fun. I was totally nervous because her little boy is the same age as Ruby and I can't get a decent pic of her if my life depended on it ... but he was a dream! He was such a ham and just posed and smiled for almost every shot. I was in heaven. Thanks Tiff for the fun afternoon. It was just what I needed ... and I love your sweet kids.

Seriously! Look at that adorable smile!

I had the hardest time getting this little cutie to smile ... mostly she just looked at me like I was crazy!

i heart faces - smiles

I heart this boy. Him and I aren't always on the same page lately ... but he really is the sweetest little guy around. And his smile ... his smile lights up the room. Every night before he can go to bed he always says, "I want to give you a kiss and a love." And on some nights ... some very special nights. After his kiss and love he says "I want to give you a smile!" and he gives me a big smile before running off to bed. It is on these nights that I feel extra special. Extra special to have this boy in my life. And I have come to count on his kiss and love just as much as he does.

Rocket Faster!

Spring is here ... Lagoon aka Rocket Faster is officially open. As yearly season pass holders my kids anxiously await the opening of Lagoon all winter. We are all excited when we get to go for the first time of the season. We packed a lunch and headed out for an afternoon of fun. And it did not disappoint!

We thought that Ruby wasn't quite old enough for her own season pass ... but boy were we wrong! She blew through $20 in tickets in one short afternoon. She loved it! Here she is on her first ride. I couldn't tell if she liked it or not, but when I asked her if she had fun she signed/said more and was eager for the next one. We may just have to get her a pass too!

I felt so weird putting my "baby" on these rides. How can she be this big? I totally remember feeling this way with Sophie and Collin too.

Speaking of Sophie ... she is getting so big! She loves the kiddie rides but is so brave and wants to ride the big rides too. She is tall enough this year to ride all the rides and rode Wicked with Logan not once but twice. Ummm ... I haven't even rode it yet ... and I don't think I want to. And I took her on the white roller coaster. It was a blast. I just can't keep from laughing watching her enjoy these rides.

While Sophie was busy being all grown up ... Collin, Ruby, and I hit some more kiddie rides.

It is so nice that Collin is such a sweet big brother to let Ruby ride with him. Sophie has never let Collin ride with her. I guess she likes her space!

Everyone rode the merry go round. It is always a hit!

When Ruby wasn't riding rides she sat so contentedly in her stroller ... for the most part. But when we let her out she would just walk around like she owned the place. She definitely is a girl with her own agenda!

It was a great day at lagoon ... we can't wait to go again!

i heart desserts

... I do. I really, really do!

This week at i heart faces they are focusing on desserts instead of faces and who better to celebrate with than Bakerella herself!?! I love Bakerella ... and her cake pops!

I was so excited for this weeks theme because I love to take pictures of food. I think it has something to do with the fact that it doesn't run away from me! But I am not a baker. I like baking ... but it just doesn't take a priority in my day. I am more of an occasional baker. I did however make a dessert yesterday, but it somehow got all eaten up before I could get a picture of it! I may have had more than one or two helpings myself. So today I ran to one of my favorite bakeries and got my favorite cookies ... coconut chocolate chip ... mmmmmm! So yummy.

Just looking at them makes me want to go get another one from my kitchen!

It's Time ....

for Ruby to have a room!

Ever since Ruby was born she has been sleeping in our loft upstairs (which is essentially a family room). She started out there as a newborn because I can't sleep with my babies in my room ( I worry about every noise they make and don't get any sleep) ... and at 16 months she is still there because big sis won't share her room! She throws a huge fit at the thought of having Ruby sleeping in the same room. We even had Sophie and Collin try sharing a room but that just led to late night playings and two grumpy kids in the morning. And after several days they each just wanted their own rooms back. Sigh.

Having Ruby in the loft really hasn't been bad. Just recently though, it has become more of a problem. Occasionally Ruby needs to go to bed before the older two and it is hard to put them down without waking her up. And on occasion Logan has to get up really early for work and therefore Ruby wants to wake up that early too because he is walking through her room to go downstairs. And when she sees a light on downstairs all hope of her sleeping longer is lost.

Anyways ... Ruby is getting her own room. We are putting up a wall in loft making it a bedroom. I am so excited about it. I am even going to venture into painting it a color. Something my house doesn't have much of!

umm ... and oh yeah! I just might splurge and order some of these to go in it! They would look so cute hanging above her crib.

Aren't those the cutest poms ever?!?!

Did You Know .....

that it is SPRING break!?!?!

Obviously Mother Nature has Spring break mixed up with Christmas break!
We should be ... wearing new spring clothes and sandals, going to the park, enjoying picnics, and laying on the green grass.
Instead ... we are putting on our snow clothes and shoveling the driveway. Yuck!

Seriously. Last week Logan mowed the lawn. This week it is covered in snow.

I am SO ready for Spring ... to stay!

Happy Easter!

ruby enjoying just one of many egg hunts ... she was so cute!

Our weekend was full of family, egg hunts, yummy food, candy, and inspiring messages.
We are SO blessed.
