green day

St. Patrick's Day snuck up on me this year. It wasn't until I was tucking Sophie in bed last night that I remembered ... when she mentioned that she needed to wear green tomorrow. So of course we all dressed in green to protect ourselves from getting pinched and then later I came up with a plan ...

While the kids were busy playing, a leprechaun snuck right inside our house. He left a gold candy trail.

When the kids saw it they were so excited. Collin was in heaven with the sight of a slew load of candy on the ground. Because to him nothing could be better.

They immediately started picking it up and following the trail. Once their hands got full, they started filling their shirts. The trail led to three huge, green clover cookies ... and more gold candy.

Sophie was so excited and exclaimed "Cookies! Let's eat!" Collin thought they were neat too but was hoping to find more candy on the ground! That boy LOVES his candy. They both ate their cookies.

Sophie licking off the frosting ... and then wanting a new one.

and Collin eating only a few bites and then moving on to the candy ... his true love!

While we sat and ate our cookies and candy the kids talked about that sneaky, little leprechaun. They wondered how he snuck right by them, and how he got into our house.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
